Patagonia clothing – best outdoor clothing

patagonia clothing 2

Patagonia clothing is for sure the best outdoor clothing brand out there – and this applies to both; kids’ and adults outdoor clothing. The materials are durable, most are non-toxic and organic and the company’s sustainability actions and goals are truly great.

Sustainability

Patagonia’s sustainability goals and actions are just on another level. They are using regenerative organic materials, recycled materials and all materials are also Fair Trade.

REDUCE – REPAIR – RECYCLE – REUSE -REIMAGINE

They try to make people REDUCE the amount of the clothing they buy and REPAIR the clothing they have. They also encourage people to RECYCLE their clothing and to REUSE clothing buy offering their own second-hand program. They want to REIMAGINE their business and are aiming to use 100% recycled and renewable materials in the future. The ad below they once had is just so great!

Regenerative Organic

Patagonia has helped a group of farmers, business leaders and experts in soil health, animal welfare and social fairness to found a nonprofit, called the Regenerative Organic Alliance. The purpose of this allliance is to own and manage the Regenerative Organic Certified™ (ROC) program.

In the program they are working toward the highest organic standard. Organic is great but regeneratice organic is the best of them all. The program aims to rehabilitate soil while respecting animal welfare and improving the lives of farmers. This all also results in the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and can help trap more carbon than conventional agriculture.

Patagonia’s Repair Program

This brand is just something different. They are super sustainable but also encourage people to repair their clothing instead of just buying new all the time. They also have their own second-hand program Worn Wear where they sell used and repaired clothing.

Patagonia clothing review

I personally think many of us love the materials and the fact that they are made to last. They are made to be passed on from one person to another. We have bought many things to our oldest child and now the third one and the youngest is using the same clothes. And the same clothes can still be sold second-hand.

People that love Patagonia also love the fact that the clothing typically come with a repair set so you can easily fix a clothing that gets torn. And wearing these repaired clothing shows that you have truly understood what the brand is about. It is about making wise purchase decisions and wearing your clothing until they are unwearable.

Quality

As described earlier, the quality is really good. The fabrics are strong and breathable, the seams are well done and the zippers last a long time without any issues. We personally love their Regenerative Organic product line which is from the planet’s perspective even better than just organic.

Sizing

Compared to European sizes, Patagonia’s sizes are a bit larger. Us parents, we always choose a size smaller than normal. When it comes to children’s clothing, we feel that the toddler sizes are smaller than usual and the kids’ sizes larger than usual. Some of the sizes from toddlers’ line and from kids’ line are also overlapping so toddlers’ 5T for instance feels a lot like kids’ XS. We typically go up a size with toddler clothing and a size down with kids’ clothing.

Patagonia discount code & Sale

It is always a good idea to buy something from the sale, and I am pretty sure Patagonia would agree with me as they want to make sure no clothing goes to waste. The brand doesn’t share discount codes as far as I know, but instead they have some seasonal sales at their website. The discounts can be anything from 10% to 50% off.

If you are looking for discounted items, please also check Kidizen website. They do not only sell used kids’ clothing but new with tags too! Scroll further up to find instructions on how to use the site and remember to use our Kidizen discount code!
